Cake Competition Winners!

I can't believe it is already the end of October!  We had a great time at last month's 2nd Annual CNY Cake Competition at The Shops at Ithaca Mall.  We ended up with 34 competitors for both our Cake Decorating Competition themed Nursery Rhyme Cakes and our new King Arthur Flour Cake Baking Competition.  I want to thank all of you who participated in this year's events and those who helped judge, setup, tare down and run the registration, bakery and demo tables.  Thanks you to all of our sponsors and a special thanks to AC Moore for coming up to be part of the event and for our fabulous grand prize.  It is a lot of work every year but well worth it. We had a last minute substitute teacher for our paid class & the students had a blast getting to learn how to make gelatin butterflies, mold a fairy with gelatin wings and learn how to make their own templates!  Next year's competition is already scheduled for Oct. 1st so block that date on your calendar and get ready for some fun and serious competition!  Here are the winner's of this year's Cake Decorating Competition:
